Here is my favorite banana bread recipe, perfected after many years or use and revision!
Ingredients (One Loaf)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 to 4 over-ripe bananas (depending on size and how much you want)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 2 eggs
- Chocolate chips (optional and as much as your heart desires)
Materials
- Medium bowl
- Small bowl (like a cereal bowl)
- Fork
- Spoon
- 5 by 9 bread pan (or what you have on hand. Watch baking time if other used)
Directions
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl and set aside
- In small bowl, combine butter and sugar using the fork
- add eggs to butter/sugar mixture- do not worry if there are clumps
- Mash the bananas then add to wet mix- again, clumps are fine especially for the bananas
- Combine the wet and dry, mixing with a spoon- do not use mixer, it is better if it is uneven due to the banana distribution
- Add as many chocolate chips as you would like
- transfer mix into bread pan
- Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 60 minutes
- Let cool and enjoy!
