Easy Banana Bread From Scratch

Here is my favorite banana bread recipe, perfected after many years or use and revision!

Ingredients (One Loaf)

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 over-ripe bananas (depending on size and how much you want)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 2 eggs
  • Chocolate chips (optional and as much as your heart desires)

  • Medium bowl
  • Small bowl (like a cereal bowl)
  • Fork
  • Spoon
  • 5 by 9 bread pan (or what you have on hand. Watch baking time if other used)

  1. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl and set aside
  2. In small bowl, combine butter and sugar using the fork
  3. add eggs to butter/sugar mixture- do not worry if there are clumps
  4. Mash the bananas then add to wet mix- again, clumps are fine especially for the bananas
  5. Combine the wet and dry, mixing with a spoon- do not use mixer, it is better if it is uneven due to the banana distribution
  6. Add as many chocolate chips as you would like
  7. transfer mix into bread pan
  8. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 60 minutes
  9. Let cool and enjoy!
